Hiii guys!
Happy Wednesday!
I feel like part of me feels like it’s Monday and part of me feels like it’s Friday? Haha!
Neal is actually HOME during the week (not traveling for work) so we went out to dinner and a movie last night–something I don’t think we’ve done in like, 5 years ?We saw A Star is Born and Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were absolutely incredible, but why did nobody tell me how SAD it was?!
Anyway, today I’m teaming up with a cute online boutique called Social Threads and posting a try-on session on Instagram stories, but I thought I would post it here too! (Why not?) I think so often I get caught up in thinking all my photos have to be pretty, professional photos for the blog, but sometimes, all you need is a good ole mirror pic–you feel me?
If you’ve been wanting to support more small, women-owned businesses–you will LOVE shopping at Social Threads! It’s owned by two sisters-in-law who decided to leave their corporate ventures as a buyer at Bloomingdales and a Wall Street executive and open their own online boutique! Almost everything they carry is $100 or less. Also, they carry some of my favorite brands. Like LUSH, BB Dakota, BlankNYC and more! And today, you can save 25% on any orders over $200! (Enter code SPOOKY20 at checkout for the discount!).
I chose these five items because they’re not just cute, they’re super functional and classic, and can be worn a variety of different ways!

Flowy white blouse (two ways to wear!): $39
When I first ordered this flowy white blouse, I had no idea that you could wear it two ways! I love that it’s super versatile. You can go with the flowy sleeve or wear it rolled at the elbow (it has cute little button tabs to keep them in place! Also, you can wear it long (which is perfect with leather leggings). Or twist it in the front and tuck it in for a totally different look!
Sizing: It runs VERY loose and flowy. I’m wearing an Small! You may also want to wear a nude colored camisole underneath as it’s a bit on the sheer side. (I didn’t wear one and you can’t see my bra, but you can see the top of my jeans under. It doesn’t bother me but just sayin, haha!)
Blank NYC skinny jeans: $98
This was my first time trying on Blank NYC denim. They’re one of my favorite brands for jackets but I don’t own a pair of their jeans! The price point is awesome ($90!) and I love the button fly and the medium wash of the jeans. They hit me right at the bottom of my ankle and I’m about 5’6 for reference.
Sizing: They are super stretchy. So if you like your jeans really tight I may size down. These are my normal size and I like that there is a tiny bit of room in them at the waist. (THANKSGIVING PANTS as Joey would say. Sorry I’ve been watching a lot of Friends re-runs).
Color block poncho: $39
GOTTAAA love a good poncho/wrap/cape/thing. This is one of those items that you can pair with pretty much anything and look really cute and warm. Jeans and booties are a given, but you can also wear it to work with a pair of cute trousers or a pencil skirt and pumps for work, or wear it over a cute dress like this one for a night out!
Another adorable layer I love: this plaid “coatigan”–yes, that’s a cross between a coat and a cardigan ?it’s also great for dressing up or down and wearing to work as well! Just make sure to wear a slimmer trouser to balance out the coziness of the “coatigan.”
Black tie-neck blouse: $78
I had never heard of this brand before, but I’m obsessed (it’s called FRNCH–go figure ?) This is one of those tops that is polished, sexy, feminine, and conservative all at the same time–which is definitely NOT easy to do. I love the bow detail at the neck and how it flows out with the ruffle at the bottom. One of the few tops that you’ll want to reach for whether you’re getting dressed for work or for date night! I think it would also look so cute with these black coated skinnies for the look of leather but without being leggings, if leggings aren’t your jam.
Sizing: True to size, wearing XS
Wubby Fleece Half-Zip: $78
No exaggeration–a day has not passed where I have not worn this sweatshirt since I pulled it out of the box last week. You know I joke about my “Hagrid” blanket (this insanely soft giant faux fur blanket from Target I wear around the house all winter)–well, this is the sweater version ?I never take it off!! I am seriously OBSESSED. It is so warm, it is so cozy, so soft–it’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a comfortable winter sweatshirt. It’s the softest fleece you’ve ever felt on the outside and the inside is lined with a super soft jersey t-shirt material. I also love that this one is two-toned! It also comes in a vest!
Sizing: Very big! Size down.
