What to wear in Tuscany–Borgo San Felice

What to Wear in Tuscany:

Dress: Moon River–runs TTS–Available at Nordstrom, Shopbop and ASOS (They all have different sizes in stock so check them all if you can’t find your size at one!). Hat: Similar here, here and I also have this one with a shorter brim–it’s so cute (way cuter than it looks online!). Sandals: Steve Madden–run TTS and come in ton’s of colors here! (Also love Sam Edelman’s “Bay” slides that are similar). Backpack: Madewell Somerset Leather BackpackCanvas (Comes in Black and as well as a smaller size). This was the BEST thing I brought to Italy!

Happy Monday, everybody!

I hope you’re excited for today’s post, because we’re going to Tuscany 😉

I have to admit we didn’t take a lot of “outfit photos” when in Italy because we tried to truly be in “vacation mode” as much as possible. However, we did snap some photos before dinner while staying at Borgo San Felice in Tuscany. We had spent all day at the gorgeous pool sipping spritzes. It was seriously the best day ever.

OH MY GOSH I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was definitely one of the fanciest places we’ve ever stayed. We splurged and went all out because it was our “delayed honeymoon”. Honestly, it was one of the dreamiest parts of our trip. San Felice used to be a whole Tuscan town that was essentially deserted when the hotel took it over. It has a winery on-site as well as three restaurants and the most gorgeous pool setup you’ve ever seen, surrounded by Cyprus trees, olive groves and overlooking the countryside.

I will do a full review of it in a post to come, but in short–if you can swing it, definitely do 2-3 nights at Borgo San Felice. If you book early enough in advance, you can definitely get a good deal as well that aren’t TOO astronomical.

This outfit definitely sums up my absolute favorite items that I wore all throughout Italy.

I probably wore this dress (available several places, I linked them all above so if they don’t have your size at one, check the others!) at least 6 times throughout the two weeks we were there–it’s really lightweight so it kept me cool, and the midi length was perfect because I never had to worry about it blowing up in the wind. I would highly recommend bringing several breezy midi dresses for this reason! They are perfect for everything from wine tasting to walkable through the vineyards, cocktails and dinner.

I wore it at night with these slides (I wore these to dinner almost every night–comfy enough for walking a lot but I wouldn’t wear them to walk in ALL day–so they were great for night and also the pool/beach. Come on lot’s of colors!)

I also wore this dress during the daytime to walk around with my white Jack Purcell sneakers and it looked just as cute! (Remember the Juxtaposition rule? It’s an example of a feminine + masculine combo that works so well!)

Finally, the MVP of the WHOLE TRIP – definitely this
Madewell backpack
.

Hands down–if you buy nothing else for your European trip (year-round), I really think it should be this backpack. It’s not too big but roomy enough to hold a giant DSLR camera, wallets, and a jacket/sweater. I wore it every day and night–I can’t recommend it enough! It isn’t super easy to undo either so I wasn’t worried about pickpockets–I also knotted the tie one time if I was in a busy crowd or just slipped the top handle through my arm and carried it close to my body.

After a quick shoot and walk around the grounds, we headed to the patio area for al fresco drinks (my drink of choice was always an Aperol Spritz, Neal’s a Negroni–when in Italy!) and dinner. (Tip: Skip dinner at the Michelin star restaurant–it was one of my only knocks on the hotel–it was by far the worst meal we had in Italy ? their other restaurant is much better!) A

ll in all though, it was one of our favorite experiences of the trip and we are dying to get back again. Take us back!!
