Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays! I was talking to my friend Jenna, from Ireland yesterday, and she was curiously asking me all these questions about Valentine’s Day, baffled that Americans celebrate such a holiday. I guess that would be an American thing to do, for a huge company to just pull a holiday out of thin air and then have it catch on like wildfire. (Brilliant.) But I love Valentine’s Day, and any excuse to put on a cute dress and some great heels (seeing as I work from home, that doesn’t happen that often anymore!)
Because I don’t own a lot of pink or red clothing, I usually go with festively colored accents, like my favorite red suede heels, or a fun pink coat. I swapped my usual red lip for a soft, nude pink (side note: how could I forget how much I loved nude lipstick all these years?)
Also, I have to tell the world about my new favorite hair product. I heard about it from my friends at BloHaute, who did my hair for this shoot on Monday! It’s called Fave4 Texture Takeover. It’s actually the best hair product I think I’ve ever used. It has the texture of a dry shampoo, but it’s clear, and it it has the hold of a light hair spray. It’s not only perfect for prepping your hair for styling, but it gives this perfect bedhead look, and makes your style last for days! It’s AMAZING. You have to try it. (Sorry. End of beauty rant.)
This year, Neal and I will be going to Little Italy for Valentine’s Day (one of those super stereotypical things I’ve always wanted to check off my bucket list. Maybe we’ll even eat spaghetti Lady & The Tramp style.) And then going up to the lake house for the end of the long weekend! I can’t wait!
