8 Transitional Spring Buys You Can Wear Right Now!

Feb 13, 2018

Hi guys!

Hello from Dallas!

It’s not exactly WARM here, but let me tell you, even 40 degree weather feels like a vacation! ?

To get you up to speed, Neal is here for business and I jumped on board to get out of the snow. (We have the Southwest companion pass, so I can fly anywhere with him for free–it’s awesome!)

I’m excited to meet up with my high-school friend Ali this week! (Her blog, A Dash of Details, is SO cute, you must follow!) We’re planning to do a double date with her and her husband, Patrick, and bop around doing a couple shoots around the city. (HOORAY! I don’t remember what it feels like to shoot outfits without shivering!) I’ll be styling a lot of the below pieces, actually!

Other than that, my plan is to scope out a couple cute coffee shops to work from during the day, and obviously take advantage of plenty of good Tex-Mex food! If you have any reccos for local Dallas spots, I’d love to hear them!

Anyway, I purchased a couple transitional/springy items for our Dallas trip, as well as some other essentials I recently got on sale from Abercrombie! (That package sadly arrived yesterday, the day we left, so I couldn’t bring those with me. Bah! Hate when that happens.)

Scroll down to see my purchases, in case you’re in the market for some transitional pieces that you can wear now, all the way through Spring!

8 Transitional Spring Buys

The Perfect White Jeans (FINALLY!) $128

If you follow along on Instagram stories, you know that I’ve been hunting for some new white jeans for awhile now and I was having the hardest time finding a pair that wasn’t see through! Thanks to your recommendations, I ordered these high-waisted white jeans by Madewell and I couldn’t be happier with them! They’re the perfect thickness (definitely not see through!) and are really flattering. They run TTS! I love wearing white jeans during the winter–swap them for your regular jeans for a totally fresh new look!

Super Soft Faux-Wrap Sweater: $79

It  just dawned on my while writing this post that I have gone on a blush shopping spree ? Clearly I am so over winter and starving for some color in my life! This wrap sweater is SO pretty and insanely soft. I think I’m going to wear it for Valentine’s Day, but it’s the perfect transitional sweater for spring since it’s a bit lighter weight than most of my winter sweaters and not bulky! Runs TTS (I ordered an XS).

Floral Bandana: $19

I wore this yesterday on the plane! I felt like the pop of orange is very necessary to “springify” things and to pull me through the rest of winter. I also love that the pattern is feminine with a little boho nod! (It feels very Seventies to me–I’m into it.)

Striped Peplum Button up with Ruffle Sleeves: $75

Another blush item, haha! I love the feminine details of this button down, with the ruffles on the sleeves and the peplum ruffle hem! The color of the stripes is just so pretty. Runs TTS. This top will look so cute with jeans and booties now, and with jean shorts and sandals later!

Striped Ribbed Sweater: $17 (on sale!)

Weird. Stripes. I KNOW. But this was on major sale at Abercrombie and it just looked so comfortable–it’s another great transitional piece for spring! (Can’t wait to wear it with my white jeans and loafers!)

Comfy Blush Waffle Tee: $20

Speaking of comfy, and blush, and transitional–this long-sleeved waffle tee also satisfies my recent blush craving ?

High-Waisted Sweatpants: $48

Believe it or not, I haven’t actually purchased a pair of sweatpants in several years. I really wanted a pair of nice, cute sweatpants (that didn’t look frumpy) and I think these fit the bill! I like that they’re high-waisted, and they look so comfy!

Lace Bralette: $20

I really love Abercrombie’s racerback bralettes, but I don’t like how I can’t wear them with tops that have a wider neckline because the bra straps show! I just saw they came out with a non racerback version so I snapped one up immediately! (In…blush ?) These run TTS in my experience.

Striped T-Shirt Dress: $98

Another buy from Madewell that is similar to the striped tee above–this shirt dress buttons up in the front and has a longer hem in the back (making it work-appropriate if you work in a more casual environment!) I plan to wear this with my new bandana (above!) and my red Everlane Day Heels this week, but later, it’ll look just as cute with sandals!
