What’s your favorite time of the year?
For me–the short time between summer and fall is one that can’t be beat. Especially now that we have our front balcony–all I ever want to do is sit outside, people watch, and sip on a good beverage–a great cocktail or rosé are typically my go-to’s.
So, I figured–why not combine both? I recently invented–on a whim–this amazing spritzer, that turned out to be REAL delicious.
(You know sometimes you just throw a bunch of stuff in a glass when you’re feeling creative? Sometimes it works out, sometimes it REALLY doesn’t?)
This is one of those times it worked out.
(It’s also great if you’re one of those people who can accidentally drink a bottle of wine in one sitting–as diluting one’s wine with sparkling juice makes that harder to do–*wink*.)
My invention? It’s called a Pomegranate Rosé Spritzer.
(Yeah, I drink spritzers now. Does this officially mean I’m getting old? Yes? Ugh.)

I made these last week when Kelly, Mitch and Emma came over–and they were so refreshing after such a hot day. (Even Mitch liked them!) They basically make any occasion a party–whether it’s Keys-party-of-one alone on my balcony, a weekend date night with Neal, or a #FriendsDayNight with your besties. (Get it–Friendsday night–Wednesday night?)
Anyway–you can really make this with any delicious sparkling beverage, but IZZE sparkling juice is my favorite because it’s not jam-packed with sugar. (My sister loves them for her kids because they have no idea it’s juice. Shhhh.)
The basic foundation for said spritzer is this: IZZE + Wine + Fruit.
Easy, right?
So, in this case, I used Pomegranate IZZE, my favorite Rosé (sparkling rosé would work great too, it would just be more fizzy!) and I topped it with lemon slices and some blueberries. (Honestly, whatever you have in the fridge will do!) It would also be great with champagne, or even with red wine for a more “sangria” inspired take.
Want it stronger? Throw some vodka in there too. Really–why not–you know? Or, you could always just drink the IZZE straight out of the bottle, like I’m doing right now. (Because you might judge me for drinking a cocktail at 10am?)
So, what are you waiting for? Get spritzing! Cheers!
