Nordstrom Sale First Look: Try-On Session!

HI FRIENDS!

Happy Friday! I ended up making it to Nordstrom today to scope out the in-store situation and share some try-on’s with you guys.

I have good news and bad news. Which do you want first?

The bad news: To be honest I wasn’t OVERJOYED with the in-store selection. So definitely save yourself the time and shop online–you don’t really need to bother going in store. ?

However…

The good news: The online selection is honestly the best Nordstrom sale selection I’ve ever seen.

Here’s what I tried on and ended up purchasing when I shopped the sale in store today! You can see videos of each on IG stories as well!

Quick shop the items from today’s try-on–in order of appearance:

Leith Wrap Sweater (meh):

I was so excited about this sweater (it was on my Top 20 list this year!) because last year’s Leith wrap sweater was one of my favorites and was my #1 bestseller, but alas, it is not so this year. It’s cute and a versatile staple, but not something to write home about. ??‍♀️

Rag + Bone Black Skinny Jeans (meh):

I was realllyyy hoping these were going to be the same kind of denim as my other pair of Rag & Bones, but they aren’t. They aren’t super comfortable, they run SUPER small (I went up a whole size and they were still tight) and despite being mid-rise, they felt very low rise to me. All in all, not my cup of tea.

AG Farrah Skinny Jeans (OBSESSED):

WOW you guys, I’ve never owned AG jeans before–I kind of have a few denim brands I love and that’s what I stick to, but I was running my hand over the display of jeans (as one does) and the instant I felt these I was floored. They are so soft–they’re almost like cotton or something. They’re high rise, with a raw hem and a slit at the ankle. I think they are absolutely fantastic. They run TTS and I got a size 25–these definitely came home with me!

Wubby Fleece (OBSESSED):

Wubby Fleece was my #1 most worn item of the winter last year, and now they came out with new colors! (But they have the OG grey color if that’s more your speed!) Update: The one I got isn’t lined like the grey one was last year, so it’s not AS hot (it could get REALLYY hot) so if you were hung up on that aspect, wanted to call that out. Also, since it’s unlined, the fleece material is right against your skin so it makes it sooo soft. Runs HUGE. Wearing a small here.

Lace trim satin camisole (OBSESSED):

You know me. Another day, another slinky camisole. I had to get this in leopard. All occasions, all seasons–this comes in lot’s of colors and will be an amazing staple for you. Wearing a small here but XS would’ve worked too.

Halogen cashmere + wool longline cardigan (OBSESSED):

There is a ton of reaallyy good cashmere on sale, and this Halogen cashmere/wool blend cardigan is definitely a really big hit. It’s kind of like a sweater and a coat had a baby. I actually wanted it in the burnt orange color but they didn’t have it. I think I’ll order the burnt orange one too! Wearing a small here but could’ve gone with XS as well.

Pink, Grey, and Camel Topshop sweater (meh):

This was so cute online and made me look like a Kleenex box. ??‍♀️But also if you like boxy sweaters this will totally be your jam.

Free people tunic sweater (OBSESSED but too big)

UGHHH I was so sad they didn’t have XS in store! The one I’m wearing here is a small.  I was obsessed with this sweater. It runs HUGE. I definitely would want it in multiple colors if they’d had my size, but I’ll be ordering this online in an XS for sure!

Topshop gingham blazer (OBSESSED):

Wow wow wow. I’ve been wanting a fun statement blazer that I can wear now and later–I love the Veronica Beard ones but I just can’t convince myself to splurge on them–so when I saw this Topshop one as part of the sale, I snapped it up! I’m wearing a US 4 here and I’d say it fits like a regular small. Topshop runs pretty small in general!

(These jeans are also the AG Farah’s linked above, BTW! Shout out to our friend Matt for being my IG boyfriend while Neal was taking a nap and he shot this for me ?)

Steve Madden Booties:

I LOVE these booties! I actually have a Dolce Vita pair that looks EXACTLY like this that I’ve had for years–and they’re on their last legs. It’s so hard to find a bootie that is a low-ish heel, with a slightly pointed toe, that is the perfect neutral color, and that doesn’t come up too high or too low. These are them–and they are such a good price! They run TTS and are very comfy!

Treasure & Bond Convertible Backpack:

Treasure & Bond is one of my favorite Nordstrom brands, and when I saw this backpack I really hoped it would be as awesome in person as it looked online! I was so excited to see it in store. I got the olive color but they also have black. It would be ideal for travel because it’s convertible, can fit all your essentials (can totally hold a DSLR camera too) but isn’t so bulky that you won’t want to carry it around all day!

Cashmere Plaid Wrap:

They have so many good cashmere essentials part of the sale–I stood in the store for like 20 minutes trying to choose between all of them, but eventually decided on this plaid wrap because it’s super lightweight, so versatile–can be a scarf or a wrap/poncho, and be worn so many ways.

Hope this was helpful! Okay I’m off to more wedding festivities–Love you guys!!
