It’s not often that Neal makes an appearance on the blog (I try to spare him the torture of taking blog photos, which obviously takes FAR longer than one might think!) but when we got the invite to collaborate with Tommy Bahama, he jumped on board! (I’m sooo punny.) I have to admit, I was pretty surprised to see this freaking A-MAZING striped seersucker, Mad Men-esque button down on the rack amongst the classic tropical prints, but I instantly knew he’d love it.
(P.S. they run REALLY big. Neal likes his shirts more fitted and typically wears a medium, but we went down to a small in Tommy Bahama.)
Admittedly, I think he’s the more stylish one out of the two of us, and has an incredible eye for detail. The well-made buttons on this shirt really caught his eye, especially the last one, which is in a darker accent color. Since short sleeved men’s button downs are so in this season, it was awesome to see such a great selection! See some of our other favorites here, here, and here. Also worth noting–if your guy loves Chubbies shorts as much as Neal, he’ll love their retro-style to pair with them! (You all know his feelings about short shorts ;-))
He also recently picked up these Cole Haan weekend loafers–which are in an awesome bright navy color which happens to pair perfectly with his favorite (and my favorite!) Shinola watch. (I love this watch on him!) He wears it as his everyday piece, because A. It looks awesome (obviously) and B. (and perhaps more importantly for such an investment) it’s “built like a tank.”
So when everyone else is complaining about their guy’s style, I’m always extra thankful that I’ve never had to dress him a day in my life. Now, when it comes to fighting over closet space…that will be another story…
