7 All-Purpose Wardrobe Staples Worth Investing in This Spring

Is it just me or has every day this week felt like it should be Friday? ?Good news though–you are going to L-O-V-E today’s post, my friends.

By now, you guys are pretttty familiar with my love for Lolë–(pronounced LO-LAY–and stands for Live Out Loud Every day!) They’re a Canadian brand I discovered a couple years back that makes awesome activewear and lifestyle staples, but if you’re new here, I’ll give you the quick run-down!

Löle, in my eyes, basically gets put into the same category with Everlane (which, as you know, is basically the highest level any brand can get to in the Jess Keys levels of brand favoritism ?) but they’re really in a league of their own, and here’s why:

1. They are a super ethical company that is committed to making the world a better place wherever possible––for example, they are committed to sustainability, and a lot of their materials are made from recycled plastic bottles (although, you’d never know it!) Their brand is built with a genuine concern for people, product performance, and positive impact–and I love that! I always feel like I’m doing good wearing their clothing!

2. Their products are LEGIT. They are true *lifestyle* products, and very worthy of the investment. Their items–and they make a lot of them–are made for all-weather, all-season, all-occasion. From commuting to work to traveling to just living, my Lolë items are the ones I find myself reaching for over and over again.

I turned so many of you guys into believers with their winter coats this year and was so happy whenever I got DM’s saying “thank you for introducing me to Lolë!! This coat has changed my life this winter!!” So, I’m really excited to keep that rolling with their SPRING items! Huzzah!

They soo many really great new arrivals, and I kid you not, I spent hours pouring over their website, trying on a lot of different styles and figuring out which staples you guys were going to love the most–and these are them!

The criteria: Each of these items had to qualify as a “go-to” for multiple occasions–ideal for work, weekend, and travel–stylish, comfortable, versatile, and equally as important–functional.

Okay! Ready to see what made the cut? Let’s go!

The Luisa Midi Dress:

You know I’ve been on a midi dress kick lately, and this one tops the charts with both form and function. This dress is super comfortable and ideal to throw on for brunch, it looks adorable with sneakers and won’t blow up in the wind, so it’s perfect for travel, and best of all–it’s also long enough for work. (Just throw on a cardigan and a pair of cute flats or loafers!) Also comes in black, red, and blue! (Black would be even easier to dress up for work!)

Sizing: Runs a little big, I’m wearing XS (my normal size) and there’s still some room. If you want it tighter, go a size down.

Lily Convertible Tote/Backpack:

I’ve actually had this tote for years now and I love it–it’s honestly the most functional bag I own. It can be converted from tote to backpack, has a 13″ laptop pocket, yoga mat compartment, water bottle compartment, detachable, transparent case, shoe bag, phone pocket, and keychain to attach your keys to, so you can always find them in your bag! They thought of EVERYTHING.

Bleeker Trench:

(Also available in black.) I have been wearing this trench NON. STOP. Ever since I got it about a month ago. It’s the perfect spring trench because it’s insanely lightweight but still super warm. It’s definitely a more streamlined, minimalistic design, which I love. (Fun fact: Their head designer came from Burberry–can you tell? ?) It also folds up into *nothing* so it makes it ideal for travel as well.

Sizing: supposed to be a loose fit, but order your normal size (or size down if you’re always in between). I’m wearing XS. I also roll up the sleeves.

Linen Button Down:

You guys saw me style this shirt 8 different ways in my white jeans post not too long ago! Here it is again–a 9th way. ?

This is another staple I’ve been living in over the past month–I’ve worn it with everything from jean shorts to skirts–I’ve dressed it up for meetings, wore it around with a pair of jeans exploring Toronto all day, and dressed it down for weekends on several occasions. It’s quickly become an essential uniform staple. It’s tunic length, so you can wear it so many ways for so many things–I’m definitely going to wear it as a bathing suit cover up this summer, too!

Sizing: Runs TTS but oversized, I’m wearing XS.

Marais Ankle Pants:

OKAY. STOP THE PRESSES. E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E who works in an office setting needs these pants. They are the stretchiest work pant’s I’ve ever experienced. Seriously, you can do yoga in them if you wanted to. They are incredibly flattering and best of all, they go with everything. They are the perfect happy medium between “work pant” and “life pant.” If you were going on a trip for work and extending through the weekend, you could honestly get away with packing one pair of pants–these.

Sizing: they run VERY SMALL. Go up two sizes. I would typically wear a 0 in say, J.Crew, but I’m wearing a 4 here.

Emeline Packable Jacket:

I now own this jacket in three colors and I’ve been a huge fan of the Emeline for YEARS! This jacket is packable, meaning, it squishes into a tiny little pouch that can fit anywhere–it’s like magic. It’s also insanely warm–wind and water repellant with 700 fill power down insulation. The down is also responsibly sourced and trackable–each jacket comes with a unique serial number which can be used to trace the origin of the down. This is the perfect jacket to bring with you for that weird in-between spring weather, or when you’re traveling to a chillier climate. (This would be a perfect spring European adventure trip jacket!)

Tip: On days where it’s cold in the AM and drops again later in the day, I actually layer both the Emeline and the Bleeker trench! They’re both to same color and go together so well–it’s like they came as a set! ?Then, when it’s warm enough for just the trench, I’ll roll the Emeline up and smush it in my bag–it’s perfect!

Emeline sizing: Runs TTS! Wearing small. (I wear small in more fitted jackets and XS in looesr jackets. I have broad shoulders, haha!)

Packable Piper Rain Jacket:

Last but not least–if you’ve been looking for a classic, minimalistic, super functional rain-jacket, look no further than the Piper! I like that it’s long to provide extra protection in downpours. (Speaking of, I actually wore this in a TOTAL torrential downpour–like, with no umbrella–and I stayed perfectly dry! It’s waterproof and windproof, and is super duper, barely there lightweight. It also has regular pockets but also a bunch of internal pockets as well, which come in super handy!

Best of all: Guess what? It’s packable, too–just like the Emeline! It also comes in tons of fun colors!

Sizing: Runs big! Size down! Wearing XS and still lot’s of room!
