Thanks to Nordstrom and Shopstyle for sponsoring this post! All opinions are 110% my own!
Hiii from Oregon!
I’m here over the next few days renting a lake house with my family (see more on stories!) but today, I’m excited to be teaming up with Nordstrom to share three ways to style this little red mini dress for summer. ??
(All my girls who have asked “what do I wear this summer to stay cool if I hate shorts?”–this one is for you!)
Nordstrom is always one of my main go-to’s for summer dresses. They have one of the largest selections out there, and when I saw this little dress, I knew it had to be mine!
A few reasons why I love this Little Red Dress:
It’s so lightweight it’s barely there–I think this is probably the *coolest* (as in temperature) thing you could wear in the heat. It is linen, so it’s breathable and also feels like you’re wearing hardly anything on your body!
It’s the prettiest punchy red color–I just LOVE this color of red this time of year–and it’s perfect for 4th of July coming up, too! I think it’s festive and makes a statement.
The shape is wonderful for a couple reasons: first, it makes it really easy to style with sneakers (which I know a lot of people have trouble doing!) and because it isn’t flowy, you can wear it around everywhere without fear of it blowing up in the wind! (My biggest dress pet peeve, haha!)
Oh, and, did I mention–it comes in LOTS of other colors? If red isn’t your thing–check out the other colors they have! (I love the white with black polka dots too!)
Here are three easy ways to style it!
How to Style A Little Red Dress 3 Ways For Summer
Look #1: The Perfect “Summer Exploring” Outfit
This is the EXACT kind of outfit I wore all over Italy! (I just wish I’d had this belt bag!) Like I said above, one of my favorite things about this dress is that it looks just as cute with sneakers as it does with heels–and not all dresses are so easy to pair with sneakers! It’s the perfect dose of girly + tomboy at the same time. Also–I’ll be posting a tutorial on how I tie scarves in my hair in a few days–sit tight! (This one I’m wearing here is vintage!)
Red dress:
Made by one of my favorite brands, B.P.–it runs TTS and comes in lots of colors! If you happened to skip over the intro of this post, I went into all the reasons why I love it above 😉
Tretorn Sneakers:
The sneakers I have worn over and over and OVER on the blog. Nordstrom has them in lot’s of styles and colors–see how I styled them in tons of other posts here. Run TTS!
Madewell Belt Bag:
Can we talk about how “belt bags” are really big now except that they’re literally just fanny packs? ?I am always a late one to jump on the “trend” bandwagon–but actually, I realized how GENIUS these really are. I mean–what better purse can you ask for when it comes to travel? It’s not heavy, it doesn’t get in your way, it’s virtually impossible to have your purse stolen or pick-pocketed. (Plus, it fits your passport and all your essentials!)
So when Madewell came out with this one, I was like. OKAY. I see you belt bag. I’m here for you. I’m so glad I got this!! Order your normal belt size for this! (I probably would’ve been an XS but it was sold out in this color so I got the small and it still totally works perfectly.
Ray Bans:
My favorite sunglasses–I never leave the house without them! They’re equal amounts retro and classic, and I think they make every outfit look more stylish!
Look #2: Patio Margaritas:

The perfect thing to throw on to meet your friends or a date on your favorite patio! Just because you’re going casual doesn’t mean you can’t dress feminine!

Woven Crossbody:
How cute is this woven cross-body!? I can’t get enough of woven and wicker details when it comes to handbags, and this is no exception! I love that it’s convertible and the strap is very adjustable. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again–Topshop is having a MOMENT with the handbags right now. Have you looked at their selection on Nordstrom.com? So stylish and so affordable!
Sam Edelman Bay Sandals:
I have been wanting to test out these sandals forever after seeing them EVERYWHERE for multiple summers–and I have to say, they do not disappoint! They are so cute, comfortable, and Nordstrom just got in a bunch of new colors! They run TTS.
Jean Jacket:
If you’re looking for a straight up CLASSIC jean jacket, look no further than this one from J.Crew! I think a jean jacket paired with a punchy red is a match made in heaven! They complement each other so well–it’s the best thing to wrap around your shoulders on the patio when the sun goes down! Runs TTS!
Look #3: Bachelorette Party:
You know when I was scrambling trying to find dresses for Vegas? This one would’ve been PERFECT! I know you guys are always looking for great bachelorette party dresses and this one could NOT be more versatile. Whether you’re going out on Broadway in Nashville, to a club in Vegas, or to dinner in Nantucket–with just a change of shoes you can dress this little frock up or down as much as you’d like!

This time I removed the strap for a totally different look! I love that it’s so versatile and roomy enough for all your essentials!
Treasure & Bond Wedges:
If you’ve been looking for a great pair of wedges, look no further! These come in soo many colors and are so comfortable you can walk in them for miles. I love that the platform isn’t too tall so you don’t feel like you’re going to roll your ankle. ?
