Happy GALENTINE’S DAY!
Do you have any fun plans with your girlfriends today? I hope so! I’ll be going to my friend Meg’s Galentine’s Day party at her amazing furniture store Megmade! (She’s the one who made my headboard and my coffee table!) If you’re free, you should come by! I would love to meet you!
I honestly can’t believe it’s February 13th. Does time ever stop flying? On one hand, that’s crazy, on the other–hopefully this means that May will be here in the blink of an eye. ?
Coming at you with another Mexico post today to keep you warm! If you missed the last few, here they are so you can play catch-up:

Today, we’re back with another post–how to style a slinky camisole on vacation!
Now–you know me. You KNOW how I love my slinky camisoles. But I feel like sometimes we forget about them as warm weather essentials–we think of them as base layers to wear under blazers for work, as the perfect feminine top for date night, and so on, but not usually as “versatile vacation essential.”
But today, we’re going to change that ?
You know how I’m always trying to teach you to see an outfit as a formula rather than looking at it so literally? This is a great example of that!
You know that a camisole looks great for a winter date night with dark skinny jeans, statement earring, your favorite coat, and a swipe of red lipstick–right?
This is the same exact formula–we’ve just switched the setting. We’ve left the coat at home, we’ve traded the dark skinnies for white ones, and we’ve swapped pumps or booties for sandals.
SAME. THING!
Once you learn to see getting dressed as a formula, and you have a few of your favorites in your back pocket, it makes getting dressed for any occasion super easy!
This is what I love about the camisole–it’s one of the most versatile pieces you’ll ever own–I rarely travel anywhere without one!
Key pieces of this outfit:
Camisole:
Okay okay, you get it. If you don’t have one yet–you need one! The one I’m wearing here is from Everlane. It’s silk, but it’s not shiny silk–it’s a really nice fabric that is nice enough for work but not so nice that you won’t bring it on vacation. I own a lot of different camisoles though–I love the lace-trimmed versions too. (Especially for date night!) I will link some favorites below!
White skinny jeans:
The same white jeans I’ve been wearing for what seems like forever on the blog now ?They’re Madewell’s high rise white skinnies and they are one of the only pairs I’ve found that isn’t see through and doesn’t bag out! They also aren’t super high for those who aren’t into high rise jeans–I would say they’re more of a high mid-rise! They’re super soft with the right amount of stretch! So many of you guys (readers of all shapes and sizes!) have professed your love of Madewell jeans to me–so if you haven’t tried a pair, definitely give it a shot! (FYI my next reader roundup is “best jeans for all shapes and sizes” which I’m working on now–get excited!)
Straw bag:
Another thing you’ve seen ALLLL over this blog is this Amazon bag. It’s probably my proudest Amazon find to date, and it’s only $15. Not super high quality–but who needs an expensive bag on vacation?
Sandals:
My favorite sandals ever–I hope they never stop making them!! I own them in three colors and have worn them on vacation all over the place. They’re so comfortable, so cute, and they go with everything! You don’t even need to own any other sandals in my opinion! ?
