GG Reader Dogs Vol 3

Mar 28, 2019

Hii from the plane on the way to Phoenix! ??(Again?) This time, I’m heading to the Beautycounter conference with Blair and I am SO excited!

But…do you know what time it is?

GG READER DOG TIME (!!!!) Hoorayyyy! If you missed the first edition and second edition, welcome to the best blog post idea I’ve ever had. (Also, you should go read those. So many cute smushy faces!)

A few weeks ago on instagram stories, I asked you to submit your dog’s photo with a funny caption so I could turn it into a blog post–I got 100+ submissions, and here we are with a brand new blog series! ?

Seeing pictures of your pups brings so much sunshine to my day, and I know these good boys and girls will bring a smile to YOUR face, too!

(Please note, these photos are posted in the order they were received! Also, my cat people–don’t dismay–we will be taking cat submissions once we get through all of the dogs! New submissions are currently closed but will open up again soon!)

ENJOY this week’s puppies! ?

Bentley from Minnesota

Bentley from Minnesota

This is my 6 year old chocolate lab, Ben (Bentley). He’s the absolute sweetest, happiest, and goofiest boy. He’s handsome and he knows it…he won a prettiest eyes competition as a puppy and won free dog food for a year! We love him SO much and take him everywhere- breweries, dog yoga classes, camping, etc… we’re those people. He was a groomsdog in our wedding and chomped bugs at the altar, which is actually the cutest thing.

Brody from Portland, OR

Brody from Portland, OR

My name is Brody and I’m husky mix from Portland, OR. After 5 years of being an only child, my parents recently brought home a new tiny human. I like to act like I don’t care about him (they’re really trying to force this friendship ?so naturally, I have to act like I’m not into it. I can’t give them the satisfaction of being right) but secretly, he’s kinda growing on me.

Marty from DC

Marty from DC

This is Marty from Washington, D.C. His favorite activities are sleeping in “his” West Elm chair instead of his dog bed and going on food strikes to score human food. He got hit by a car once and miraculously left with only street cred and no injuries. Civic: 0, Marty: 1. Unfortunately, he is still not afraid of cars and no longer has off-leash privileges without adequate fencing. His greatest wish is for his parents to purchase a home in the suburbs so he can live his best life rolling around on his very own patch of grass any time he pleases. Soon, Marty, very soon… P.S. he’d love new friends following his antics @martythefunkmandoodle.

Coco from Salem, OR

Coco from Salem, OR

I’m Coconut (Coco for short), a “purebred” Sheltie from Salem, Oregon. I say “purebred” because I’m constantly reminded that the reason I was for sale was because my nose was too long for a show dog…whatever. I’m currently pushing 13.5 years and maybe a little fat, but I’d say life has never been better: I literally eat, sleep, eat some more and play. I put up with my owners dressing me up, my fav foods are red bell peppers and steak, and in true sheepdog fashion, I still chase the ankles of my “kids” around the kitchen while playing hide and seek—will check bathtubs and laundry baskets if necessary. (Here I am pictured during the eclipse.)

Gracie and Bella from Connecticut

Gracie and Bella from Connecticut

Gracie is a Portuguese Water Dog who is both stubborn and sweet. Bella, the cockapoo, is eternally loyal (tries to follow you everywhere!) I love my sweet girls. They are best friends – opposites attract!

Marley from Fresno

Marley from Fresno

Marley loves socks even when they are still on your feet. She hates to fetch like other dogs. We will be at a park with other dogs fetching and she will legit just watch and probably thinks “nah, I’m not getting that. You guys are suckers!” Makes me chuckle every time. We have to keep her water bowl outside because she dunks her whole face to get water, and then all the water that was on her face gets everywhere on the ground. People laugh when they see that and usually say, “wow”. She is not at all graceful but certainly is cute!

Janie from Milwaukee

Janie from Milwaukee

I adopted my dog Janie about four and a half years ago–she had come from a shelter in Tucson, Arizona and was being fostered by my yoga teacher in Milwaukee. I had just finished grad school and was kind of lost, so adopting a dog was a logical choice! Janie is such a sweet, patient girl, but she also has a very spunky personality and is always giving side-eye, which is hilarious. My fiance had never really interacted with dogs when we met about a year after I adopted her, so they were a little wary of each other at first, but now they’re best friends and get to spend most of their days together since he works from home! We recently did a DNA test on Janie after many years of speculation, and it turns out she’s a mix of Pit bull, German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Chow Chow and Australian Cattle Dog.

Pooh Bear from Chicago

Pooh Bear from Chicago

Say hi to Pooh Bear ??, he’s one of the hippest grandpas around Chicago. He enjoys playing with his stuffed moose and chipmunk friends lovingly called Bullwinkle and Rocky, has been known to eat an entire slice of bread slathered in peanut butter, and loves standing at the top of the staircase at 6AM until one of the peasants (aka my parents) carry him down the stairs. He does not love the polar vortex wind or wearing his winter booties, but appreciates a good “adidog” sweater for colder days. In the summer, he can’t recommend the life jacket life at Montrose Beach Dog Park enough. He’s a sucker for belly rubs and nighttime cuddles with his dragon pal, Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback. A loyal confidant, his hair is so big because it’s full of seventeen years of secrets.

Gracie

Gracie dog

I’m Gracie and I am 7 years old. I was adopted by my parents when I was one after I was dropped off at a local doggie day care and never picked up. My dad was working at the doggie day care at the time and took me home one night. He saw how sad I was and knew I had so much love to give. He introduced me to his fiancé, and they went out to dinner to discuss my future. During dinner, they agreed to foster me. By dessert, they realized I was too special and they felt called to adopt me. I have a human sister who is 2 and we are besties. A lot of people judge me by my breed- I’m a pitbull mix. But I am all love. I love to cuddle, play and go for walks, just like “normal” dogs. My parents’ goal is to prove to as many people as they can that dogs are like people- if we are shown love, we will give love. If we are mistreated, our behavior can be unpredictable.

Tater from LA

Tater from LA

This is Tater. She is a little more than a year old and a true French girl (haha, she’s a French Bulldog). She loves treats and snuggles. Her big ears are useless when it comes to listening and she snores louder than my dad! We have had her about 6 months and already can’t imagine our life without her!

I hope you have a FABULOUS day! Stay tuned for GG Reader Dogs Vol 4 coming soon! Also, make sure to check out our first edition and second edition of GG reader dogs, if you missed them!
