Getting inspired: 5 favorite sources of creativity and motivation

Feb 24, 2015

Sometimes, it’s really hard to turn your brain off. And often times, I blame the internet.

There’s so much out there, so much to look at and ingest in such a small amount of time. No wonder our generation shares the attention span of a 5 year old. I often blame my computer screen when my brain turns to mush. I’m sure you feel the same too, right?

However, there are a few exceptions. A few wonderful websites (and podcasts!) out there that make my heart skip a beat each time I see them with fresh eyes, excited about what new and inspiring content I’ve yet to discover. Some you might have heard of, others are brand new! Do you have a favorite?

If you haven’t heard of the site, Wandeleur, it’s because it literally launched yesterday! It was created by my good friends Blair and Emily, who have been working on it behind the scenes over the past few months!  Wandeleur is a bit different than any other website I’ve ever come across, because it’s specifically geared toward creatives–those who aspire + inspire, interviewing lot’s of exceptional creative individuals, providing lot’s of great tips & tricks, and promoting an overall imaginative lifestyle. Must read: Try your hand at acrylic painting.

The New Potato

The New Potato will soon be a favorite of you’re a foodie at heart. It’s a new twist on a culinary blog, with recipes and restaurant reviews intermingling with fashion, design, and travel. Must read: basically any of their cocktail recipes.

Clementine Daily

Each time I type “clementine daily.com” into my browser, I get a little calmer. Aside from the beautiful site design, I love that it’s one of the few sites out there that truly celebrate the simple pleasures in life.  Must read: inspirational daily quotes

Jess lively

I give 110% credit to Jess Lively for establishing my podcast addiction. Let’s just refer to her as the gateway drug, shall we? I’ve listened to every single one of her interviews (many of them over and over) with bloggers and other successful entrepreneurs, talking not just about how they got to where they are, but what choices they are making along the way and how they are living a better life with intention. Must listen: (speaking of Clementine Daily) Jess’ interview with Erin Lochner

Smart Passive Income Podcast

I just discovered the Smart Income Podcast last week through Jess Lively (who I can thank for introducing me to several incredibly talented people). It’s no wonder it’s one of the highest ranked business podcasts out there. Blogger Pat Flynn talks about the tools to build a successful business with a smart work-life balance. Needless to say, I’ve been listening to him non-stop for the past few days! Must listen: Productivity and the early morning routine.

Do you have any others I should add to this list? I’d love to hear them!
