” A brunch without mimosas is just a sad, late, breakfast”

This past Sunday, I attended an incredible brunch. A sweet, savory, soiree of sorts. (Damn, that was some great alliteration!) My friend, Mary, of Sportsanista hosted us all at her gorgeous apartment (West Loop? Exposed Brick? #Swoon) with a spread that put Martha to shame. It was a chance to finally meet so many ladies I felt like I already knew through the blogging community — Lisa & Kaitlyn from Sisters Marie, Jess & Jill from Jess + Jill, Johanna from 101 Things I Love and Zahra from Love Zahra — who’s personalities, I can attest, are just as amazing in person as they are in the blogosphere.
Not wasting any time putting the Mimosa bar to good use (complete with fresh squeezed OJ and edible flower petals) we quickly became fast friends, divulging in lots of girl talk and a few shameless selfies.
Mary’s eye for detail is absolutely impeccable — she has now become my #1 resource for DIY entertaining. (Sorry, Pinterest.) She whipped up several amazing recipes, among my favorite were her baked avocados with egg and baked french toast. Be sure to check out her blog for more of her savvy entertaining tips!
I think there need to be more blogger brunches in my immediate future, yes?
