Know what’s funny? I’ve always loved flowers, especially blooms in soft, neutral tones. (Peonies and Hydrangeas! I die!) Whites, pinks, creams–gimme all of ’em!
But when I got engaged, my stomach churned at the idea of shelling out thousands of dollars for flowers that are going to get tossed after just one day! I mean, that’s not only financially ridiculous, but also just plain sad.
Then I had lunch with my friend Meg (you’ve seen me wear her bracelets–she’s the designer behind BusyWrist! You should totally stalk her wedding here) and she told me that in fact–she barely had any flowers at her wedding! Aside from the bridal party bouquets–it was all greenery.
GENIUS.
Of course, I turned to Pinterest, and of course, I found all the inspiration I was looking for. Here’s what I’m envisioning for our tablescapes. The simpler, the better. I’m envisioning greenery, candles, beautiful glassware, and that’s about it!
Thoughts?
What do you think? Would you ever forego flowers at your wedding?
