UMMMM HOW EXCITED ARE YOU FOR THIS POST?
(As excited as me?! Maybe? I hope so!!)
Once again, I’m so thrilled to be teaming up with Everlane again–one of my favorite brands–this time, with a Fall capsule wardrobe!
I polled you guys on stories a few weeks ago, asking what you most wanted to see from Everlane’s Fall collection and the results were literally ALL. OVER. The place. (I mean, really, how does one choose?) But I hope I satisfied quite a few of your requests here. ?
If you’re new here, I’ve been an Everlane fan for 5+ years now. They make super high-quality staples for amazing prices because they cut out the middlemen. Also, they are ALL about transparency–if you scroll down on any product page, you can see how much it cost them to make the item in relation to how much they’re charging for it. They partner with ethical factories (you can read all about each one here!) and have a huge goal of eliminating all virgin plastic from their supply chain by 2021! Basically, they’re doing a lot of amazing things, besides just making great clothes!
So, let’s get into the capsule, shall we!?
First, let’s talk about the criteria:
VERSATILITY: This is a big one. So many of you struggle, I know, with staples that are ideal for both in and out of the office–so that was my biggest focus with this post, is to showcase some really cute fall looks with pieces that you can wear 9-5 and 5-9!
FALL! To be honest, I’m still not ready for fall yet, but I know most of you guys are! ?One thing that always gets me excited for cooler temperatures? FALL COLORS! I lovvveee neutrals, cognac, taupes, camels, browns, burnt orange–you name it, I am here for it. Which brings me to my next point:
COLOR SCHEME: You’ll notice like with all capsule wardrobes, the trick is to go with a color scheme. Here I went with shades of black and brown–so we have black, grey, cream, beige, camel, cognac, and burnt orange.
Now…on to the items!
Fall Capsule items:
First up–Tops + Sweaters:
Everlane Cashmere Crew Sweater
Everlane makes some of my FAVORITE cashmere sweaters, and at this price point–they cannot be beaten. I feel like everyone and their mom is always looking for the perfect classic cashmere crewneck sweater and I HAVE FOUND IT! At $100, it’s really hard to pass up! (Also: I feel like camel is the color that ALWAYS sells out the fastest in the fall and winter, so if you love it, grab it now before everyone else does!)
Sizing: True to size, I’m wearing a small
Everlane Washable silk tie sleeve top
[one-half-first][/one-half-first][one-half]
[/one-half]
WOW. OH, WOW. You guys. You know I love my original Everlane silk blouse, but this new version is WASHABLE! Plus, it has such a beautiful feminine tie detail on the sleeves. I am in LOVE. This top is perfect for work, dinner, a shower–literally anything! It looks great with work pants or with jeans! It’s seriously so beautiful!
Sizing: Runs TTS, I’m wearing a small
Everlane Washable silk wrap top
THE COLOR of this wrap top–called cider–could there be a more perfect color for fall? It’s a really beautiful shade.
The best part about this top is that it has a hidden-button closure (see above–obviously the button doesn’t show but wanted to make sure you got a good feel of that little detail!) It’s placed a little bit higher than many wrap tops–making it very work appropriate, whereas I know some wrap tops can be too low cut for the office! I also really like the length–it’s cropped, so it hits you right at the waist–so flattering! It is made of the same washable silk material as the top above–hooray!
Sizing: Wearing a small. The sleeve closures are a little tight on the forearms, so I’m glad I didn’t go XS!
Everlane Turtleneck Tee
This turtleneck tee had my name ALL OVER IT. This one didn’t disappoint. I love the slightly lighter grey color and it is very soft! It’s thin so perfect for layering!
Sizing: Runs a little looser. I’m wearing XS and still could’ve sized down.
Everlane Long Sleeved Striped Bodysuit: $35
The best bodysuit! It is SO. FLATTERING! I love the neckline in particular. I’ve been wearing this with jean shorts out at night this summer, too! It’s the best layering piece as well and has snaps in the crotch because obviously easy bathroom breaks are key. ?
Sizing: Runs TTS! I’m wearing a small!
Chunky Cardigan Sweater: (LAUNCHES TODAY!!)
[one-half-first][/one-half-first][one-half]
[/one-half]
I LOVE this chunky cardigan–it’s brand new–just launched today! Such a great staple for fall and looks cute as a layer or worn all by itself buttoned up with a pair of jeans!
Sizing: I’m wearing a small! It fits true to size!
Now let’s talk Pants:
Everlane Straight Leg Crops
I can’t decide which I love more–the cut of these pants or the color! I’m wearing them here in Sandstone which is somewhere between a cream and a tan. They are the PERFECT alternative to white pants that are amazing for Fall and Winter! I think these are my favorite pants from this capsule!
Sizing: Run TTS! I’m wearing a 0. These run the same as the wide leg crops!
Everlane Work pants–brown houndstooth
THE WORK PANTS! You guys are always asking for reccos on good work pants that aren’t frumpy and these are SO. CUTE! They just came out with them in two different houndstooth versions and these make me feel so seventies chic! Whenever I buy work pants to review for you guys, I don’t really ever wear them in real life because I don’t need to–but these I will totally wear this year because they’re just so versatile and fashion-forward. Very suitable for the office, but don’t feel like “office pants”–you know what I mean?
Sizing: Run small–I usually wear a 0 in Everlane pants and the 2’s here fit perfectly!
Everlane Wide-Leg Crops
It’s no secret how much I love my white wide-leg crops, so obviously I needed a fall version! (Not that I think you can’t wear white pants year-round, you totally can!) I think the black pair is a great choice though because, again, they are also great for the office! You can dress them up or dress them down–a great wear-anywhere pant!
Sizing: Run TTS! I’m wearing a 0.
Everlane Cheeky Straight Jeans:
I LOVE these jeans. These are probably the jeans I wear most often in the fall and winter. They are so flattering in the booty and I wouldn’t call them straight leg, but they aren’t skinny, either. If you’ve been wanting to venture out of your skinny jeans, these are still really classic. Come in lots of washes!
Sizing: Run TTS for me, I’m wearing a 25 (what I always wear).
Next Up! Shoes:
Everlane Day Heel
Not a big shocker here–I’ve been a fan of Everlane’s Day Heels for YEARS! They are the most comfortable heels EVER. If you’re on your feet quite a bit, you especially, are in need of these shoes. They have them in tons of colors (both suede and leather) and you can wear them with everything from professional-wear to jeans and a t-shirt.
Sizing: These used to run small but now I feel like this pair is TTS. ?I ordered my normal size and they work great.
Everlane Day Boot
These were the boots I would NOT shut up about this past fall. They are basically the Day Heel in boot form!! Plus, they are so comfortable that I walked around Portugal in them (yes, despite the fact that they have a small heel) and still had no pain! They are the best everyday boot. I also have them in black and have been eyeing the bone color!
Sizing: Run TTS! I wear an 8 (my normal size) in both the Day Heel and the Day Boot.
Everlane Modern Loafer
Another pair of Everlane shoes I’ve had for a couple years now, I love the Modern loafer. I always say that this is a great loafer for people who don’t like loafers. Many loafers have rounder toes which can easily look really frumpy when paired with the wrong thing, but these don’t because they are so sleek and, well, *modern* (duh) in shape! Another super versatile shoe that you’ll wear in and out of the office.
Sizing: True to size!
Finally–Versatile Bags:
Everlane Form Bag
The most versatile bag ever! The strap on this bag adjusts so you can wear it as a shoulder tote, long messenger bag, or cross-body! It has a magnetic closure at the top for easy access and it’s big enough to fit your laptop as well!
Everlane Day Tote
No big shocker here, of course, the Day Tote made an appearance! (As it does in many a blog post of mine ?). This is the “Light Taupe” color and the leather is easily wipeable on the outside, so despite me throwing it around, setting it on the floor (always)–it stays surprisingly clean!
…now, on to the best part! The outfits! ??
Everlane Early Fall Capsule Wardrobe–The Outfits:
Cashmere sweater + straight-leg crops:
Cashmere sweater, Straight Leg Crops, Modern loafer
This look can work for SO many occasions (making it especially ideal for Fall travel!)–it would also be adorable with Everlane’s Tread sneakers (I have this pair and LOVE them!) instead of the loafers! This scarf is old but any neck scarf goes a long way to add a little pop of interest to any neutral outfit!
Chunky cardigan + Turtleneck tee + Straight leg crops:
Turtleneck tee, Chunky cardigan, Straight Leg Crops, Day Heels, Form Bag
You know I am a BIG fan of white on white–meet the Fall version! SWOON. Another versatile outfit that can be dressed up or down! Here I’m wearing it with my favorite day heels (SO COMFY) but like the first outfit, can easily be made super casual by a simple change of footwear!
Striped Bodysuit + Straight Leg Crops + Booties:
Bodysuit, Straight Leg Crops, Day Booties, Form Bag
I love this Everlane bodysuit and I’m SO glad they brought it back after it totally sold out last Fall! Its one of those rare pieces in your wardrobe that is subtly sexy when you want it to be, yet can be made super casual as well. (A Mary Poppins piece, if you will!) This is an example of a look I’d wear exploring the city on an early fall weekend!
Silk blouse + Straight leg crops + Day Heels:
Silk blouse, Straight Leg Crops, Day Heels
This may be my favorite outfit of the whole capsule. It’s just SO PRETTY. (I know, with the head to toe neutrals again. ?) How beautiful is this to wear to work? To a party? How about dinner? Or to ANYTHING? (Red lip strongly encouraged, obvi!)
Silk Blouse + Work pants + Day Heels:
Silk blouse, Work pants, Day Heels
Same blouse, same shoes, totally different look! Crazy how that works, yeah? These are officially the cutest office pants EVER. They are so cute, I am totally going to wear these this fall and I will likely not get within 1 mile of a corporate office. I just love the houndstooth pattern–it makes me feel very Seventies in the best way possible!
Silk Wrap Blouse + Work Pants + Booties:
Wrap top, Work Pants,Day Booties, Day Tote
I often get asked, “how do I wear booties to the office” and this, my friend, is the answer! These pants (the ankle-length, specifically) are the perfect length to go with booties. You definitely need to have a little bit of ankle showing in between your pant and the bootie. Otherwise, it will look VERY frumpy. This is the problem with a lot of work pants, is that they’re too long to wear with booties, so look for an ankle pant! And obviously, you know, this pair is a favorite of mine! I love the combo of the houndstooth brown pattern with the burnt orange of the top!
Cashmere sweater + Chunky cardigan + office pants + loafers:
Cashmere sweater, Work pants, Modern loafer, Chunky Cardigan (launching today!)
One of my favorite ways to wear sweaters for fall is to layer two together! It keeps you cozy, adds lot’s of visual interest, and just makes your outfit so much cuter! This is a great “wear to work” outfit–for added snazziness, tie a hair scarf in your hair!
Wide leg crops + Cashmere sweater + Day Heels:
Cashmere sweater, Wide-Leg Crops, Day Heels
I LOVEEEE me some wide leg crops. SO MUCH. These are basically the same pants as the straight leg crops, just wider. (In case that wasn’t obvious, but it probably was. ?) Especially in black, they are truly the “wear anywhere” pant. They’re a cotton-elastane blend, so they don’t bag out but have just the right amount of stretch to hug you in all the right places. If you want to make them look even dressier for work, just add a belt! (It covers the button and makes them look like slacks!)
Wide leg crops + Turtleneck tee + Booties:
Turtleneck tee, Wide-Leg Crops, Day Booties
This outfit just makes me happy! It’s perfect and simple and comfy and versatile and all the things! It’s like your “t-shirt, jeans and sneakers” outfit but MUCH more elevated and chic! (And yeah, if you’re wondering, these booties are just as comfy as sneakers!)
Striped bodysuit + Wide-Leg Crops+ Booties:
Bodysuit, Wide-Leg Crops, Day Booties, (scarf is old)
Basically a Jess Keys style uniform in a nutshell. That is all. ?
Chunky cardigan + Cheeky Straight Jeans + Booties:
Cheeky Straight Jeans, Day Booties, Chunky Cardigan (launching today!), Form Bag
Fun fact: A cardigan isn’t just for layering, button it up, and it looks super cute all on its own! I love this buttoned (leave the bottom button undone!) and paired with jeans–these are Everlane’s Cheeky jeans and they are one of my favorite pairs I own! I wear them a ton in the fall and winter!
Cheeky straight jeans + Silk blouse + Day Heels:
Silk blouse, Cheeky Straight Jeans, Day Heels
AH. My favorite blouse. Speaking of uniforms, this is just an evolution of the classic Jess Keys Everlane uniform: Cheeky jeans, Silk blouse, and Day heels. I LOVE this new WASHABLE silk shirt–it’s classic, feminine, polished–basically anything you could ever want in a blouse. I should probably order more colors. ?
Wrap Blouse + Cheeky Straight Jeans + Booties:
Wrap top, Cheeky Straight Jeans, Chunky Cardigan (launching today!) Day Booties
Last but not least–this wrap top isn’t just for the office! (P.S. it’s the same washable silk as the above favorite blouse, too!) I love how it looks with a chunky sweater layered over the top, along with jeans and booties! The cutest thing to wear out and about on a fall day–you can walk around all afternoon and go straight to dinner!
WHEW! Still with me!? I hope this gave you ALL the fall wardrobe inspo! (And some great intel on some of my favorite Everlane pieces! ?)
This post is sponsored by Everlane–one of my favorite brands ever–I’m so lucky to work with brands that give me (and you!) so much joy! Thank you so much for supporting both Everlane AND this blog–it doesn’t go unnoticed, and I know I speak for both of us when I say it is so incredibly appreciated!
