12 Cute Concert Outfits To Wear This Summer

May 29, 2019

One of the best parts of summer as the weather starts to heat up? Concerts! Every summer I get asked for cute concert outfit ideas–and I finally got around to writing this post!

Here’s the thing: I think we always tend to overthink what we’re wearing, but rest assured–not all concert outfits have to be super trendy, involve graphic tees, band tees, crop tops, or flower crowns! These 10 outfits are concert ready–yet cute, comfortable, classic–and I’d bet you already have a lot of these in your wardrobe already! ?

12 Cute Concert Outfits To Wear This Summer:

#1: A midi dress, sneakers, and a denim jacket

Spring Shoes by The Golden Girl

See full post here with more style tips: How to style a midi dress

Dress: Sold out but similar here, here and here! Shoes: Tretorn Jacket: J.Crew, Tote: Everlane

If you’re going to an outdoor concert where it’s going to be a little windy, a midi dress like this one is always a cute option! (This one is polka dot but a floral dress or even animal print would be just as adorable!) Pair it with classic white sneakers so your feet stay comfy, and don’t forget a denim jacket in case it gets chilly! It’s the perfect way to dress feminine but practical and casual at the same time!

#2: Feminine top + jean shorts

Cute Concert Outfits – Summer

See full outfit post here

Top: c/o Lord + Taylor (TTS), Shorts: AGolde (TTS), Sandals: Kaanas (TTS), Sunnies: Ray Ban, Purse: Amazon

This is probably the most foolproof summer concert combination of all time. A cute, breezy, feminine crop top (I love this one because it can be dressed up for work with a pair of high waisted skinny pants!) and some cute but comfy flat sandals. I love this simple outfit especially for an outdoor concert–you don’t want to be worried about flashing people when sitting on a blanket, so shorts are always a good route to go.

Plus, outdoor concert venues always seem to require a good amount of walking to and from the venue, so comfortable shoes are key! (Also, don’t forget your sunnies–these Ray Bans are my go-to pair!) It’s a great thing to wear to a country concert especially when you don’t want to pull out the cowboy boots!

If you wanted to edge things up a bit–you could totally add a black leather jacket and swap the sandals for sneakers!

#3: An all denim outfit, the classy way! (Denim jumper + sneakers!)

cutest denim jumper

Dress: BB Dakota c/o Shopbop (runs big), Shoes: Tretorn (run TTS)

Another “girly meets tomboy” combination–are you sensing a denim theme here? I love this little jumper because it’s lightweight and incredibly soft (not like normal denim, it’s more of a soft chambray material!) This is especially great for a date, because it shows off your figure while still being practical, cool, and comfortable at the same time. I think this is also a really cute thing to wear for a music festival when you aren’t trying to rock what is essentially the popular crop top and underwear look that we see all over instagram these days. ?

#4: Cami + White skinny jeans

Jess is sharing some cute concert outfits

Silk Cami: Everlane, White Skinnies: Madewell, Sandals: Steve Madden, Earrings: Bauble Bar (similar), Purse: Amazon

A camisole and jeans is always my go-to combination (which you’ll be able to see below, haha!) It’s the perfect “what to wear when you don’t have anything to wear” combination. Here I’m wearing the Everlane silk camisole with Madewell white skinny jeans–no matter what concert you’re going to, this will always be suitable for the occasion! (Especially if it’s somewhere indoors because sometimes that AC can get CHILLY! Pants are always welcome there!) Also, you’ve seen this purse A LOT. It adds the perfect summer twist to any outfit, it’s lightweight, holds just the essentials, and best of all–it’s $15!

#5: Ruffled crop top + cutoff jean shorts

Top: Similar shirt, Shorts: similar jean shorts (see below) Sandals: Steven Madden, Purse: Amazon, SunniesRay Ban, Amazon earrings (similar)

I think smocked tops are so adorable, and also very flattering–it accentuates the waist but disguises those extra summer beers you tend to enjoy when patio weather is in full swing. ?My top is from last year, but this one and this one are similar and so cute! These shorts are old and not available anymore, but here’s the two pairs I do recommend:

AGolde Parker Cutoff Jean ShortsThese are DEFINITELY an investment, but I’m not going to lie, I haven’t found a pair of jean shorts I loved EVER like I love these. I live in jean shorts so much during the summer, that the price per wear really evens out. I think it’s nearly impossible to find comfortable, flattering shorts that aren’t too short–and I finally bit the bullet after hearing every blogger I know rave about them for like 2 years, haha! (Plus, Shopbop has Amazon Prime shipping + free returns!)

Treasure and Bond High Waist Boyfriend ShortsIf the above aren’t in your budget, I totally get it. These are another great option that are half the price, and they also solve the “not too short shorts” issue! I love the relaxed fit and the high waist.

#6: Blouse with raw edge jeans + animal print sandals:

Jeans: J.CrewTop: old but love this one and this one, Leopard Sandals: old but lot’s of similar cute ones here!

If you’re looking for a comfortable, flattering pair of high-waisted, lightweight, perfectly stretchy and soft cutoff straight-leg jeans– these button fly straight leg jeans from J.Crew are it! (Boyfriend jeans would also look super cute here for a more relaxed look!) I absolutely love them and they’d make a perfect combo for a concert with a black top and any animal print or leopard sandals.

#7: Wrap dress + flat sandals:

Dress: Everlane (40% off with “name your price”), Sandals: Steve Madden

I have always wanted to attend “concerts on the terrace” at the Modern Art Museum, and I think this would be the perfect thing to wear! Cool, classy, and comfortable! You can’t go wrong with Everlane’s Japanese Go-Weave dresses and jumpsuits–they are this awesome material that lays beautifully, is wrinkle resistant, and keeps you cool! You can snag this exact one for 40% off right now!

#8: Black Camisole + Levi’s Wedgie Jeans

Black Camisole + Levi's Wedgie Jeans

Black Cami: (linking my favorites here + here), Jeans: Levi’s Wedgie Jeans (snag them here + here), Bag: (similar), Sandals: (similar

This is my go-to outfit for basically everything–therefore, it also becomes a perfect concert outfit! No matter what kind of concert it is–rock concert, country concert, free concert at the park, you won’t feel inappropriately dressed! The slinky camisole is classic and feminine, and the Wedgie jeans bring a little dose of rocker chic! 😉

#9: Striped tee, jean skirt, leather jacket, sneakers:

T-shirt: (similar) Skirt: (similar) Sneakers: Jack Purcell or my favorite Tretorns would look awesome, too! Jacket: (similar and on sale!)

If you live in Chicago, you know attending free concerts in the park are such a fun part of summer! This would be a perfect thing to wear to a “concert in the park” date. It’s cute, super casual, and comfortable! (You could also sub for my fave jean shorts linked above if you’re not into the skirt!)

#10: Camisole, Raw Hem Jeans, Espadrilles, Denim Jacket:

Camisole, Raw Hem Jeans, Espadrilles, Denim Jacket

Jeans: Everlane’s Kick Crops. They have limited sizes left in the white, but I also love their Cheeky Straight fit. Wedges: Marc Fisher, but I recently got these Treasure + Bond wedges I love even more because the platform isn’t as tall! Cami: (Similar here + here) Jacket: J.Crew which you can snag here or here.

This is basically the same outfit formula as my “cami and wedgie jeans” outfit linked above, but with a more feminine twist. Go with a pretty cami, edge it up with some raw edge jeans, and for a more feminine touch, add some espadrille wedges!

#11: Striped tee, hair scarf, white denim skirt:

Jess Keys' outfit details: Striped tee, hair scarf, white denim skirt

T-Shirt: Everlane (exact color is sold out but love this color combo or this J.Crew version. Skirt: Madewell or J.Crew are my favorites.

The last time I wore this outfit was in Italy, but don’t let that fool you. ?It’s great for a summer concert as well! (Random, but also cute for a baseball game, too!) Feel free to cycle in your favorite band or team t-shirt instead of stripes!

#12: Classic white tank, skinny jeans, and heels!

Cute Concert Outfits

Jeans: American Eagle (similar), Shoes: Sam Edelman Tank: Everlane, Earrings: (old, but similar), Bag: Old Vineyard Vines but love this one

Last but not least! Sometimes a great white tank (this one is truly the best–great for knotting and it keeps you so cool!), jeans, and heels are the perfect thing. (Top off with a white denim jacket–it looks so crisp!) Optional: Sub black jeans here if that’s more your vibe! I love this dressed-up casual look for a date night concert–just make sure you’ll have seats, otherwise, swap for flats! ?

What do you think? Did this give you some good concert outfit ideas?
