Metallic Midi

Classic Style: Black Bow Top + Metallic Midi

Black Bell Sleeve Bow Top: Topshop via Nordstrom (also comes in white and green!) I also love this similar top, this bell-sleeved polka dot top, and how adorable is this floral bell-sleeve version? // Metallic Midi Skirt: Old, but identical here, similar here (also in petite here) I also love the pale pink versionASOS has a ton in so many colors! // Slingback pumps: Old, but identical here, slightly lower heel heret-strap version here // Lips: MAC Lady Danger //pstick: My #1 go-to shade–MAC Lady Danger (I also recommend their lip scrub, which is SO good for winter, and their lip primer!) // Hair: Curled with a Beachwaver curling iron, Oribe Texture Spray // Nail polish: Essie’s no-chip gel polish–it actually stays really well compared to normal polish! I did a little review of it here.

Happy Wednesday!

(How is it already Wednesday?)

I hope you had a lovely Valentine’s Day–we had so much fun! We went to dinner at TWO (we hadn’t been since we first started dating, years ago) and it was phenomenal. If you go, you must order the duck egg pasta and the chicken. I’m still full writing this blog post!

Did you see the Valentine’s Day cards we exchanged this year? Going all out for our cards (by that I mean, bad Hallmark cards from CVS don’t count) has become kind of our tradition. I shared them on Insta-stories last night.

I thought mine was hilarious (I drew it, grade-school style) but then I got Neal’s. He ordered it off of Etsy and thought it wasn’t going to get delivered in time–it arrived at 5pm yesterday and he was well worth the wait. It was HILARIOUS. The Etsy store he ordered it from makes all kinds of punny rap related cards–he got me the “every thug needs a lady” valentine. Still cracking up.

We also made friends with the couple at the table next to us, who I would guess to be around my parents age. They had dated briefly way back when, in their twenties, but ended up marrying other people. Decades later, both got divorced, but found one another again–and ended up getting married. (“I waited for her all those years,” he said!) What a cute love story, right? Further proof that everything happens for a reason 😉 It’s so fun to make new friends you wouldn’t normally cross paths with.

Today is another day full of errands, gearing up for a last-minute trip BEFORE our trip to LA next week (more on that later) so I’ve been hustling to get everything done! Bah! Send me productive vibes!!

A quick chat about today’s outfit: Fun fact, you guys–I bought this skirt (identical here) more than 5 years ago at Nordstrom Rack! (This was before midi skirts were really a mainstream thing–I’m so glad they are now!) This year, pleated midi skirts especially have been everywhere (ASOS has a TON at really great prices!)–I love how feminine they are! They move beautifully, are really fun to twirl in, and are just a nice little break from mini skirts or pants.

Favorite pleated midi skirts

They’re so polished, they go with just about any top that you can pair them with–this black bell-sleeved blouse with ties on the sleeves is a new favorite. I’ve been pretty much falling over everything with bows OR bell sleeves lately and this is no exception–how cute are the ties at the elbows? It also comes in white and dark green.

…okay, back to the to-do list!
