Looking for some incredible and unique pieces of furniture, but don’t want to spend a fortune? I’ve recently discovered some great small shops out there that allow you to do just that! Whatever you’re looking for–from a mid century console to a custom sofa–it doesn’t have to take thousands of dollars (or come from IKEA!) to get the perfect piece of your dreams. (P.S. most of these are Chicago-based, too!)
1. Interior Define
Also known as, THE PLACE I JUST GOT MY FIRST SOFA FROM!
Yes, last week I became the proud new owner of The Everygirl’s Lucy Sofa (pictured above!) It’s just $1,300 (which includes delivery!) Interior Define is hands down (in my opinion) the best place to buy a couch, and they have tons of customizable options, too. If you live in Chicago, I would highly recommend popping into their Bucktown showroom.
2. Wrightwood Furniture Co.
The first time I stumbled upon the Wrightwood Furniture website, I refreshed the page because I thought the prices were wrong. For example, this hairpin leg bench that looks like it could be from West Elm to the tune of $600? Yeah, it’s $190. I’m still baffled, in the best way possible.
3. West Town Re-Up
West Town Re-Up might be one of my top favs on this list. They’ve got a slew of revamped vintage mid century furniture–like this ridiculously good looking side table for $75!
4. Meg Made
I recently discovered Meg Made from her career profile on The Everygirl, and I absolutely adore her revamped and restored vintage furniture (like dark grey & wood side table!) She also has a showroom near Logan Square.
5. Chairish
Kind of like Etsy on steroids, Chairish is a website that allows you to browse tons of goods from local interiors shops all over the country, with a heavy emphasis on vintage. (In two words: freaking amazing.) A word of advice: if you’re shopping for furniture (instead of home goods) click the “near me” tab, so you don’t fall in love with a $200 find that will take $500 to get to you!
Do you have any other go-to’s for scoring awesome, affordable furniture?
