A Classic Spring Outfit, Two Ways for Now and Later!

Button down: J.Crew Boyfriend Button down–I’m wearing a size 2 because I like them oversized! Available at Nordstrom and J.Crew! Also dying for this floral button down! Also this button down with DOG PRINT!? I love this wide striped short sleeve button down too and this multi-colored striped short sleeve version! Jeans: Everlane Kick Crop Jeans: run TTS but they stretch quite a bit, just FYI. I absolutely LOVE these jeans and wear them several times a week! I think they’re so cute and such an easy way to add more personality to your outfit! Abercrombie has a very similar pair on sale right now! They have awesome jeans (this high-rise skinny pair is my favorite! I would say they are very similar to Madewell in terms of fit and quality!) This pair from Nordstrom is also a similar white cropped pair! Red heels: Everlane Day Heels (also one of my top Everlane obsessions! You won’t find a more comfortable pair of heels anywhere! They’re called the “day” heels because you can truly wear them all day!) Come in TONS of colors, and also in suede! White sandals: Kate Spade–I can’t say I’ve gotten many chances to actually wear these but I’m excited for when I finally can!! They run TTS and are on sale! Trench: London Fog (see my whole post on why I love this coat and tons of ways to wear it!)It’s probably the most versatile coat I own (has a removable hood and liner, which makes it super warm!) There is also this version that is a bit longer! LOFT also has SUCH a cute one! Leather jacket: from when I studied abroad in Italy but similar here and here! Straw bag: Vintage, but similar here and you can see my whole roundup of favorite straw bags hereLeather Tote: Madewell Transport Tote – hands down the most used bag in my closet–it fits SO MUCH stuff for travel and work! Plus, its insanely lightweight, high quality (I carry around like 30 pounds of stuff in it on the regular and the handles have held up phenomenally!) Comes in so many colors and different sizes, too! Earrings: Amazon (like, $10!!!) Sunnies: Ray Ban Wayfarers (Tortoise, but also come in black!) I also love these similar $50 sunnies by Quay!

Happy Monday, guys!!

How was your weekend? We celebrated two different birthdays–I was in Memphis for my friend Ally’s 30th birthday, and Neal was at the lake celebrating his mom’s birthday with his fam! We were both sad that we couldn’t be in two places at once but it was still a blast.

Memphis was a ton of fun and it was great to have a reunion with some of my best college girlfriends–I had a REALLY early flight home though at 6am so I’m still recovering from the lack of sleep ?

Anyway, you remember Neal’s Spring Favorites post from last week, right? This is the second half of that post–we shot them both the same Sunday (back when it was actually really nice outside! Those days will hopefully be here permanently soon ?)

This outfit combination is perfect for so many occasions–it’s polished and classic while still being easygoing, casual and on-trend. Today I’m showing you how just a swap of some shoes and a jacket can transform the look to go from cooler temperatures to warmer weather!

The shirt: I love the frenchie-esque vibe of this button down, which is so cute for spring and summer. It’s lightweight too, so it will still keep you cool! I love tying it up in a knot to make it more casual, but you can also do a little front-tuck (would be great for work!)

The pants: These are the Everlane “Kick Crop” jeans, but I call them my “kickie pants” because I thought that’s what they were called originally ? I love the straight leg, the high-rise, and the raw hem. Did you know you can actually customize them to whatever length you want?? They give you instructions on how to do it! (I mean, honestly, all you do is take a pair of scissors and cut them…but yeah ?)

How to wear this outfit now:

Let’s be real–it’s NOT sandals weather yet, and it likely might not be for several more weeks, so until then, I’ll be wearing this ensemble with my Everlane Day Heels and my Trench Coat for quite awhile. This look is also great if your work environment is more casual yet you still want to look polished and professional–I definitely would’ve worn this outfit for a day of client meetings in my ad agency days!

How to wear it later:

White Kate Spade Flats For Spring

striped top: classic spring outfit

For a more casual version of the outfit, swap it for a pair of flat sandals. I absolutely LOVE these newbies I recently got from Kate Spade! The combination of the ruffles and the polished gold chain detail make them feel really polished while remaining casual at the same time. They also come in gold and are on sale for $117 right now! They will definitely be coming with me to Mexico in a couple of weeks! Huzzah! I also traded the trench coat for a lighter leather jacket, which is my go-to for spring and summer nights out when the temperature gets a little chilly!

What are some of your favorite spring staples lately? Hope you have a great Monday!
