I’ve missed you! Feels good to be dropping in to say hello and share a try-on of some “new to me” favorites I’ve purchased (or been gifted, thanks, Able, who gifted the Able items you see here!) I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready for summer to end. We still have a whole month of warm weather–why are we rushing it!? You’ll find that some of these are prime summer staples, however, I am a realist as well–it’s always important for my items to do double (or triple or quadruple) season duty–so a lot of these items will look just as cute with extra layers styled for cooler temperatures as we transition into fall.
Additionally, I’ve been hearing from so many of you that you’ll be heading back to the office (or you’re already there!) and you need work appropriate inspo that is still on a pandemic comfort level. (Can anyone go back to uncomfortable clothes?! The HORROR!) Hopefully you’ll find some great ideas in here that hit on all of the above categories!
Make sure to check out my try on of all these items on stories today! (Will be posting them shortly!)
Disclaimer: I had to write this all in one swift take with June sleeping and I did not have time to proofread. (Not like you aren’t already used to typos around here anyway. Also pls enjoy my cluttered house in the background of these photos. OH WELL! Done is better than perfect, right?!)
Try On: 8 New Items I love!
Perhaps THE dress of this pandemic world, the Nap Dress–from Hill House! And my two favorite color ways are finally restocked!!
I will admit I first ordered a different hill house nap dress last summer (it was the purple gingham fabric) and I HATED it. The fabric was so scratchy and papery–but I decided to give them another chance after seeing so many of my friends jump on the bandwagon, and I’m glad that I did! It’s really really great. I think the best part about it is that the material/ruching is substantial enough that you don’t have to wear a bra. It’s SO FAST to throw on yet still makes you feel beautiful. (On that note, it’s SUCH a great gift for a new mom! I have been living in them for that reason!)
It’s comfy enough to wear around the house, and cute enough to wear with either sneakers for a casual patio beer, or with cute heels for a dinner date!
The fabric is also SUPER breathable, making it perfect for the hottest summer days. The one pictured here is actually my second, which just came last week (after being held hostage by FedEx for 10 days. ) called the Pastel Trellis fabric. I ordered it as soon as it came back in stock, because I loved my pink version (called the Mermaid fabric) so much! (Also restocked!!)
Bonus: Have you listened to Grace & Becca’s interview with their founder, Nell Diamond? I loved it!
Sizing: Runs big, go down a size. I got XS.
ABLE was so nice to send me a few items this past month, and this top is one of them! I knew many of you are looking for cute transitional blouses that can be worn now and later, for casual settings and “back to the office” too–and this one definitely fits the bill! It’s classic but with a feminine twist–I love that the ruffles continue on to the back as well! It feels like a classic poplin material. Use code JESSKEYS25 for 25% off all ABLE items!
Sizing: Runs small, probably could’ve sized up to a M as it’s a bit narrow in the shoulders and the forearms.
Okay these aren’t actually new, but I got them when I was pregnant (and sized up knowing I’d want to wear them postpartum) and I haven’t been able to wear them in a long time, so I feel as though they count! I wrote a whole review on them right here). I LOVE AGolde shorts–they’re great quality and are definitely staples in my wardrobe. Another more budget friendly option that I love are the Abercrombie Dad shorts which are quite similar, but sadly sold out right now.
Sizing: Reviews say they’re TTS, jeans and jean shorts are a little hard for me to pinpoint what size I am exactly at the moment–but I would venture to guess this is correct, haha!
Same blouse, different pants! These Amazon pants are the work appropriate comfy pants you’ve been searching for, and will only set you back $25! HUZZAH! Stretchy, elastic waistband, pockets, and a cute wide-leg crop. If I had an office to go back to, I would buy multiples! Not just for the office though, they’re super lightweight so I think they’d be great with a tank for a casual late summer outfit with a pair of Birks. Once fall rolls around, style them with a cute tee and long cardigan.
Sizing: Run TTS! (Went with a small)
Another ABLE favorite they so generously gifted to me this month–I’m a big fan of slides in my old age and these do not disappoint! Cute and comfy–will be great “work from home” shoes (I always feel more put together when I have shoes on, is that odd?) and also great if you are heading back to the office soon! However, they’ll also be equally as cute with a more casual outfit–paired with your favorite jeans and a chunky sweater for fall! I love the neutral colors and the pattern and texture make a simple outfit a lot more interesting! Use code JESSKEYS25 for 25% off all ABLE items!
Sizing: Run TTS! I have average width feet and they fit great.
Thanks Grace for this gem of a recco! ☺️ Only $26 but surprisingly soft and looks far more expensive than it is! The front panel IS sheer, just FYI–but I’m wearing a nude bra with it here and it’s not super obvious. You could always wear a nude camisole under it, or stickies too if you don’t want any show through! I’ve been wearing mine a lot with jean shorts (see above) and my gold Birkenstocks! Will be cute transitioning to fall with jeans and a leather jacket, too!
Sizing: TTS (I went with medium bc I wanted a bit of a looser fit)
Another great Amazon find. (You know I can’t resist a soft, breezy Amazon dress). This one comes in multiple cute colors and looks so cute with any kind of footwear. Dress it up with heels or dress it down with sneakers. (Wearing my favorite Freda Salvador sneaks with it here! See my review of them and my other favorite white sneakers in this post.)
Sizing: Runs TTS. Wearing a size small.
Last but not least (and it’s selling out fast!!) is this ABLE jumpsuit (also gifted from the brand) that I have had my eye on since I was pregnant (when I obviously couldn’t fit into any jumpsuits) it’s so flattering, such great quality, and super comfortable! Again, in the name of “going back to the office” per many reader requests–this is something that would transition really well both in and out of the office! Comes in an olive color as well as a tan color, too! The white color I’m wearing is a “bone” which is off-white, so it’s great for summer but also will transition easily into fall as well. Will be so cute with booties (I have my eye on these!) and a jacket. (Love this jean jacket, also Able!) JESSKEYS25 gets you 25% off all Able items!
I’m a big fan of their Abera style purses–I have the convertible backpack purse if you’re looking for something smaller (it’s small enough for an everyday purse, but big enough to just BARELY fit my 13″ laptop! You can see my review of that purse here!)
However, it’s this convertible tote that is brand new to me–AND they just started offering monogramming! Love the subtle embossed initials! This purse is great because it functions as a tote AND a cross-body with the removable longer strap, and is plenty roomy enough to hold a laptop and all your essentials. Has a magnetic flap closure at the top and a small interior pocket.
