12 Buys for Late Summer/Early Fall

Hi guys!

Happy Tuesday! I’m still recovering from my friend Kate’s bachelorette party over here ? you know some Mondays where you try your hardest and barely accomplish anything? Yeah…that’s how my week started. Oh well, haha!

Today I’m sharing some favorite late summer/early fall buys that are on my radar! Each of these are perfect to start wearing for late summer when nights tend to start getting cooler, and well into fall and winter! (We don’t talk about the W word yet though. It’s only August!!)

I’ve gotten a lot of request for reccos in a  few of these categories, so hopefully you love them as much as I do!

Chic sweatshirt:

Similar to the above, I think every grown women needs a chic sweatshirt that they can wear when they want to be comfortable yet still look very presentable. Perfect for wearing to yoga, errands, on the weekends heading to the grocery store–whereever. As the temperatures get chillier at night, it looks cute with cropped jeans for a casual dinner, too! It’s made by Beyond Yoga (shop more BY stuff here!) which is an amazing brand for comfy athleisure staples!

Leather skirt:

In the heat of the summer, I live in breezy dresses, but as temps start to cool down at night, I love a good leather or suede mini skirt for a night out. I love that this version comes in black as well as a beautiful camel brown leather. It’s not too tight or too short–it’s super chic, classic, with a teensie bit of edge. (Remember the Juxtaposition rule? Pieces like this are great paired with contrasting feminine or even preppy pieces!) This version is the Cupcakes and Cashmere brand, which I really love–you can shop more of her pieces on Shopbop! (Sizing tends to run big, so size down!)

Comfy but polished lounge pants:

This is so incredibly odd. I have SO many pairs of cute pajamas (shop them in this post!) but I don’t own any “loungewear.” I got rid of all of my oversized sweatpants, etc from college because I don’t want any extra items in my wardrobe that don’t make me feel put together–and I never replaced them! Sometimes it feels weird to put on pajamas at like 2pm when I just want to be comfortable. So my goal this season is to invest in a few really nice pieces of “loungewear.” These pants are made by Eberjey which makes the SOFTEST stuff around, so I’m adding these to my cart! (They also come with a matching comfy top!)

Dainty geometric hoops:

I got a pair of super dainty gold hoops from Vo Jewelry that I love (she’s a local Chicago designer!) but then I saw these dainty Geometric hoops on Shopbop and loved them as well–they’re a little bit something different and they’re going to transition really well into fall and look adorable with sweaters and long sleeves as well! They’re made by Baublebar which is one of my favorite brands for jewelry–you can find more Baublebar at Shopbop and Nordstrom as well as directly on their site!

Burnt orange midi dress:

This is one of my FAVORITE colors for fall and always has been–I love the sweetness of this midi–it’s a modest length but the neckline has enough plunge (kind of a baby plunge) to offset it so it doesn’t end up looking frumpy.

This would be a PERFECT dress for travel because of the length–you don’t have to worry about it blowing up in the wind AND it looks just as cute with sneakers as it does with heels, so you can easily transition it from day to night! (Would’ve definitely brought this to Italy with me!)

It’s made by a brand called Re:Named which is a label I discovered through Shopbop (I love the brands they carry!) They make some really cute feminine pieces!

Dark floral wrap dress:

Speaking of versatile dresses, I am loving dark florals because you can truly wear them all year round. I’m so happy florals aren’t just for warm seasons anymore! This dress would be great for everything from work to brunch to date night with just a change of shoes! You can see how I style a floral midi several ways in this post! The brand who makes this dress is BB Dakota, which is one of my favorite brands they sell at both Shopbop and Nordstrom!

Double Breasted Blazer:

A lot of you guys have told me you’re on the hunt for a great blazer you can style lot’s of ways, and this one is definitely it! I absolutely love the gold button detail which makes it a little more special than a standard blazer. It’ll look so cute for the office with a pair of trousers but also for the weekend thrown over a t-shirt and jeans!

The brand who makes this blazer is called Lioness which is a brand I stumbled upon at Shopbop and fell in love with! They have some really cute well priced items!

Pine Green Crossbody:

I am LOVING Rebecca Minkoff right now. She makes the best bags and this beautiful pine green cross-body is on sale. I love that dark green is another option for a neutral that isn’t black or brown. This color pretty much goes with everything you pair it with and is something that’s just a “little different.” The size is also perfect if you’re someone who wants to carry all the essentials but doesn’t like hauling around a whole big bag!

Cognac Suede Heeled Sandals:

My favorite type of heel to wear this time of year is a simple block-heeled sandal in a fall-ish color. Luckily for us we still have a couple more months of nice weather, even though the air seems to shift and start to feel more “fall”–so these sandals are a perfect in-between. I absolutely LOVE Sam Edelman’s Yaro sandals. I think they are the #1 most comfortable heel out there. They make a lot of great heels though–Shopbop and Nordstrom both have great Sam Edelman selections!

Leopard slides:

Last but not least, every girl needs a pair of leopard shoes or two! They are such an easy way to spice up a basic outfit and slides are a great, comfy alternative to sneakers and ballet flats! The slightly pointed toes on these makes them look more polished and chic. They’re made by another one of my favorite shoe brands, Dolce Vita!

Neutral booties:

Now is the time everyone starts looking for their new favorite booties! I love this pair from Sarto and this pair from Sam Edelman! They both come in a really pretty greyish taupe that goes with literally everything, and both have a shorter block heel that makes them easy to dress up and down!

Classic straight leg blue jeans:

Skinny jeans are definitely becoming less of a thing and I personally am embracing it! I love the almost vintage-esque feel that classic straight leg cropped blue jeans bring into the mix, and they’re also super flattering too! Levi’s make my favorite pairs–the 501 and Wedgie!

Which are your favorite?
